Who We Are
Donatella Foundation (DOF) is an independent nonprofit organization established in 2018 to drive social investment and transformation in economically-marginalized communities. Our focus is on reshaping these communities to ensure a more prosperous and humane future for all.
Our Work
At Donatella Foundation, we contribute to socio-economic transformation through three primary areas of focus:
- Providing free education to all needy children
- Alleviating poverty among economically marginalized communities
- Ensuring access to clean water and sanitation among very poor communities
We leverage collective goodwill, development commitment, business capacity, and skills to formulate and carry out transformative and impactful interventions.
Our Impact
Since our establishment, we have made significant strides in improving the lives of vulnerable children and communities:
- Established Lidos Junior Schools, providing free education to over 50 children
- Implemented water and sanitation projects in rural Uganda
- Initiated skills education programs and microfinance opportunities to fight poverty
The Global Challenge
According to revised estimates, by 2030, there will be 24.3 million maternal and double orphans globally. In eleven countries of Eastern and Southern Africa, between 20 and 35% of all children under 15 will be missing their mother, father, or both parents.
These staggering numbers represent immense human and social costs. Children without parental protection lose opportunities for school, health care, growth, development, nutrition, shelter, and even their rights to a decent and humane existence.
At Donatella Foundation, we are committed to addressing these challenges and creating a brighter future for these vulnerable children and their communities.
