Current Situation in Our Target Communities
Many of the communities we work with face significant challenges:
- Lack of safe drinking water sources
- Long distances to water sources, often several kilometers away
- Poor sanitation leading to the spread of diseases
- Time wasted on water collection, impacting education and economic activities
- Conflicts arising from competition for limited water resources
Our Approach
Donatella Foundation takes a comprehensive approach to water and sanitation issues:
- Infrastructure Development:
- Drilling new borehole wells
- Repairing existing wells
- Developing spring and rainwater catchments
- Providing water storage solutions
- Building community filtration systems
- Constructing household latrines and surface water drainage systems
- Community Engagement:
- Training community members to repair and maintain pumps and water sources
- Establishing water and sanitation committees to oversee community improvements
- Education and Awareness:
- Implementing hygiene education programs for children and adults
- Teaching proper hand and face washing techniques to prevent disease
- Raising awareness about the health benefits of proper sanitation

- Promoting integrated water resources management at the local level
- Focusing on maintaining the quantity and quality of drinking water
